ABOUT GUIDING FUTURE ANGLERS FOUNDATION
At Guiding Future Anglers Foundation, we believe a single day on the water can change a young person’s outlook on life. Some kids just need a win — a reason to smile, to believe in themselves, and to feel the excitement of something pure and good. We exist to give them that moment.
Our foundation takes nominations and detailed applications from teachers, parents, friends, and community members who know a child that could use a lift — whether they’re facing financial struggles, the loss of a loved one, a broken home, or just a tough season of life. We take the time to learn their story, their personality, and their dreams.
Every nomination form asks more than just the basics — it digs into what kind of fish they dream of catching, which lake they’ve always wanted to explore, and what kind of experience would mean the most to them. Then, we make it happen.
We personally match each child (one parent/guardian included) with a professional fishing guide who specializes in their desired species and home waters — whether it’s chasing hybrids on Sooner, paddlefish on Keystone, or crappie at Skiatook. Our goal is to pair them with someone who doesn’t just know the lake, but knows how to make it an adventure of a lifetime.
From tackle and gear on the boat to cleaning and fileting their catch, everything is provided at no cost to the family. The only thing we ask is that they show up ready to smile, learn, and make memories.
Because some kids may never get the chance to experience something like this — and we believe every child deserves that one unforgettable day when the world feels wide open, the line goes tight, and hope takes hold.
WHY WE STARTED
I grew up on Oklahoma water. I know what a good day outside can do for a kid who needs a win. This foundation gives them that chance. Not just to fish, but to build confidence, patience, and pride in themselves.
